Warranty

We’re confident you won’t need to claim under your warranty, but it’s always good to know we’ve got your back if something goes wrong. Every e-bike we sell comes with a full warranty, though the length varies by brand, so make sure to check the manufacturer's website for full details.

When your bike is delivered, you’ll find instructions in the user manual on how to register for the warranty, which is required by most brands. Be sure to register your bike within four weeks of receiving it to avoid losing your warranty cover.

What’s Covered

Your manufacturer's warranty typically covers key mechanical and electrical parts, such as the frame, forks, seat, motor, controller, battery, and charger.

Warranty coverage depends on the bike being properly maintained and used under normal conditions.

Exceptions

Consumable items like tyres, inner tubes, chains, sprockets, brake pads, bearings, spokes, handlebar grips, or cables aren’t covered under warranty. When these need replacing, you can purchase them from us - just drop an email to info@bikeyardonline.co.uk.

The following are also excluded from warranty cover:

  • Corrosion, rust, hairline cracks, paint chips, water damage, and general wear and tear.
  • Damage from accidents, misuse, theft, or extreme activities like jumping or competitions.
  • Failure due to poor care, overloading, improper assembly, modifications, or adding unauthorised accessories.
  • Opening the battery case will void the battery warranty.

General Warranty Conditions

  • All warranty work must be completed by a mechanic approved by our team.
  • The warranty includes replacement parts and shipping costs.
  • If your frame is damaged, the entire bike (cleaned) or frame must be sent to Bike Yard Online for inspection. We reserve the right to charge for labour, delivery, and collection.
  • Height limit marks on the seat post must be followed. If no mark is present, please contact us for guidance.
  • If you repair the bike yourself or use parts not supplied by Bike Yard Online or the manufacturer, your warranty will be void.
  • We won’t be liable for any damage caused by unauthorised components.
  • Disassembling any part beyond what's shown in the user manual will void the warranty.
  • Tampering with the speed limiter (set at 25km/h or 15.5mph) will also void your warranty.
  • Brand-specific warranty instructions regarding battery care must be followed as outlined in your owner's manual. Failure to store and charge the battery correctly will void the warranty.

General Maintenance

Bikes need regular servicing. We recommend your first service within six weeks, especially if you’ve done some assembly yourself. If you ride daily, service your bike every six months. Even if you ride less frequently, we suggest getting it serviced, ideally by an e-bike specialist, at least once a year. If you're unsure where to get your bike serviced, reach out to us for advice.

Keeping your bike clean and well-lubricated is key. E-bikes (outside of our Mountain Bike range) are designed primarily for road use. If you take yours off-road, ensure all mud and sand are cleaned from the moving parts and lightly lubricate before storage or further use - just be careful not to get any lubricant on the brakes! Build-up of dirt on moving parts may cause damage and, in extreme cases, could void your warranty.
